Merrymount School PTO
2014 - 2015 Calendar of Events
The PTO meetings occur at Merrymount School in the Media Center and run about an hour. At each meeting Mrs. Pegg and the PTO Board Members give updates on current events, activities, and initiatives. This is a great opportunity to hear about the latest happenings at Merrymount and a chance to get acquainted with other parents, teachers, and staff. We will also notify you when “babysitting” will be available at meetings. We hope to see you at one or all of these meetings!
Throughout the year the Merrymount PTO plans events, fundraisers, and activities for all of the families. There will be something for everyone! Please see below a tentative schedule of events/activities. We hope that you will be able to attend some of the events and participate in some of the fundraising efforts. Our fundraising efforts go a long way in supporting the school’s and the teacher’s goals of providing the best education possible to our children.
MERRYMOUNT SCHOOL PTO BYLAWS:
A copy of the Bylaws is hanging on the PTO Bulletin Board at the entrance of the building. We hope you will have some time to review and give us any comments or feedback. We also have handouts here regarding – What is the PTO and the School Council.

Merrymount School is fortunate to have four (4) very generous Business Partners – Stop & Shop (Southern Artery), Staples (Bridge St. in Weymouth), Friendlys (Hancock St. in Wollaston) and Chipotle Mexican Grill (70 Newport Ave). If you are visiting any of these places, please thank them for their continued support and generosity to our school. There is also a program at Hannafords that if you buy ‘School Smart Priced Items’ – proceeds come to Merrymount School. Last year we received over $1,400 from this effort.
We also want to encourage all to hand in Box Tops. Last year, we collected over $500 in students returning Box Tops to the school. Thanks to Denise Bausmer for her leadership in this effort and we hope to surpass that amount this year.
