Merrymount School PTO
2011 - 2012 Calender of Events
The PTO meetings occur at Merrymount school in the Media Center and usually run for one hour. At each meeting, both Mrs.Pegg and the PTO board members give updates on currents events, activities and initiatives. This a great opportunity to hear about the latest happenings at the school and a chance to get to know the Merrymount school teachers, staff and parents. We hope to see you at one or all of these meetings!

Thursday, February 16th, 7:00-8:00 PM, (Bullying/Cyber bullying, Internet Safety)
Thursday, April 5th, 7:00-8:00 PM, (Nutrition)
Thursday, May 24th, 7:00-8:00 PM, (Year in review and elect new officers)
Throughout the year the Merrymount School PTO plans events, fundraisers and activities for all of the school families. There is something for everyone! Please see below a tentative schedule of events/activities. We hope that you will be able to attend some of the events and participate in some/all of the fundraising efforts. Our fundraising efforts go a long way in supporting the school's and the teacher's goals of providing the best education possible to our children.
Scholastic Book Fair- Tuesday, January 17th- Friday, January 20th
Trivia Night- Friday, February 11th 7PM-10 PM
Math-a-thon- February 13-March 2nd, 2012
Legacy Wall- Thursday, March 8th, 2012
Movie Night- Friday, March 30th, 2012
Artwork fundraiser/Earth Day fundraiser- April, date TBA
Family Day- May (TBA)
Urban Bird Day- Thursday, June 7th

MERRYMOUNT SCHOOL PTO BYLAWS:
A copy of the Bylaws is hanging on the PTO Bulletin Board at the entrance of the building. We hope you will have some time to review and give us any comments or feedback. We also have handouts here regarding – What is the PTO and the School Council.

Thank you to all of you who signed up to be Room Parents this year.
BUSINESS PARTNERS:
Merrymount School is fortunate to have four (4) very generous Business Partners – Stop & Shop (Southern Artery), Staples (Bridge St. in Weymouth), Friendlys (Hancock St. in Wollaston) and Chipotle Mexican Grill (70 Newport Ave). If you are visiting any of these places, please thank them for their continued support and generosity to our school. There is also a program at Hannafords that if you buy ‘School Smart Priced Items’ – proceeds come to Merrymount School. Last year we received over $1,400 from this effort.
We also want to encourage all to hand in Box Tops. Last year, we collected over $500 in students returning Box Tops to the school. Thanks to Denise Bausmer for her leadership in this effort and we hope to surpass that amount this year.
